What Is EFT?

From feeling stuck to finding a path forward

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping, is a gentle approach to exploring difficult emotions and the experiences that may be contributing to them.

If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, fears, or emotions connected to past experiences, EFT offers a way to move past surface symptoms and resolve the underlying source of emotional distress.

How does EFT work?

EFT combines focused attention on an emotional experience with gentle tapping on specific acupressure points on the body. The process can help you connect with your emotions in a different way and may support a greater sense of calm and emotional well-being.

In our sessions, we will focus on the concerns that are most important to you. We may explore experiences, memories, beliefs, or triggers that seem connected to the emotions you're experiencing.

What can EFT help with?

EFT may be helpful for people who are experiencing:

  • Stress and anxiety

  • Fears and phobias

  • Difficult emotions connected to past experiences

  • Feeling overwhelmed or stuck

  • Challenges with self-esteem

  • Emotional regulation and self-awareness

EFT is not a one-size-fits-all approach. My work is tailored to each individual, with attention to your goals, experiences, and comfort level.

Is EFT right for you?

Some people explore EFT as a complement to other forms of support, while others are looking for a different approach to working with difficult emotions. EFT can be used alongside traditional mental health care when appropriate.

As an occupational therapist and mental health practitioner, I offer EFT as part of my holistic practice. I am not a licensed mental health counselor or psychotherapist, and EFT sessions are not a substitute for mental health treatment or emergency care.

If you're curious about EFT and how it may support your goals, I invite you to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation. We can talk about what you're experiencing, what you'd like to work on, and whether EFT is a good fit for you.
