WHY I DO THIS WORK
At a young age, I knew I wanted a career helping others through challenges I had experienced myself. Learning was difficult for me, and anxiety often felt like part of who I was. For years, I felt an inner struggle that I didn’t know I could change.
Over more than 25 years of working with children, adults, and families in settings ranging from schools and mental health care to homes and private practice, I’ve learned that there is no single approach that works for everyone.
My experiences, both personal and professional, have shaped the way I practice today. I believe people deserve to be understood rather than judged, and that meaningful change begins with curiosity, compassion, and presuming competence. I’m passionate about helping people better understand themselves and their experiences, feel more comfortable in their bodies, and discover new possibilities.
Discovering EFT
Shortly after becoming an OT, I achieved a major milestone by opening a specialized sensory clinic. Following this, a colleague suggested I explore EFT. Intrigued by its potential, I studied founder, Gary Craig’s original methods and along with using them personally, I began integrating EFT into my practice.
EFT became a meaningful tool in my own life and has become an important part of the work I do with children, teens, and adults. It offers a way to resolve difficult emotions and experiences while supporting self-awareness, emotional balance, and a greater sense of calm.
Today, I bring my occupational therapy background, my experience with sensory processing, and my work with EFT to support individuals and families as they navigate their own unique challenges.
